Take time and enjoy these last few weeks of summer. Moms, take your son on a date and dads, take your daughter on a date. Pick a time and place to spend some quality time with your child.  It doesn't have to be fancy or expensive; ice cream or a walk thru the park is all it takes to make an impression with your child.

When you spend one on one time with your son or daughter it sets the expectation for how they should treat and be treated by the opposite sex. Moms, be sure to allow your son to help plan the date, give him money in advance so he can pick up the tab and encourage him to open doors for you.  Dads, be sure to treat your daughter like you'd want her to be treated on a date. Pull out her chair, open the door for her, let her order first, and be sure to compliment her on her outfit, hair or shoes. When you invest time into your child in this way they will know what they deserve in a boyfriend or girlfriend and eventually a spouse.

Take pleasure in talking and sharing with each other. Remember you are raising the next generation of godly men and women.
